Ideas are the foundation to all that you see around you, from the device you’re reading this on, to the cup of coffee sitting next to you. Everything starts with an idea; everything!
Ideas flow in and out of your awareness every single day, in fact I’m willing to bet that you have hundreds of new ideas every day!
Some are diamonds in the rough that just need some smoothing out, fine tuning, and tender loving care in order to bring them to life. While others may be duds that end up being senseless distractions keeping you from developing the true gems.
As new ideas breeze into your mind, catch them, mull them over, and decide which ones are worth bringing to fruition. The ones that appear again and again are typically the ideas worth pursuing.
But, how do you turn those brilliant ideas into reality?
Below you will find 10 steps that will help you pull those magical ideas out of the ether and bring them into reality.
1.Mold your ideas!
Once you’ve grabbed hold of a worthwhile idea, turn over around in your mind. Look at it from all angles and shape it into something that ignites that fire within you. Get a clear vision of what that idea would look like once it’s released into the world (even if it’s just your world.)
2. Ixnay (stop) procrastination!
Procrastination kills any creativity that comes with the excitement surrounding new ideas. As Benjamin Franklin so apply put it, “don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.”
3. Act now and build momentum!
Now that you’ve made a deal with yourself to stop procrastination in its tracks you can move forward and start building momentum. Don’t wait for things to be “perfect.” They will never be perfect. Take action right now, don’t put it off. As you begin to take steps towards bringing your idea to life each step will naturally lead to another step and then another and so on building momentum like a rolling stone.
4. Set goals.
Write down any goals pertaining to your idea. Don’t just say them in your mind. Write them down! The connection between your mind, your hand, the pen, and the paper stirs something up in the Universe. Then do something that moves you towards those goals every day.
5. Be willing to make sacrifices and work hard.
In order to bring your idea into the light of day, you need to be prepared to make some sacrifices such as: getting up earlier, watching less t.v., and also saying no to things that don’t move you forward. You also need to be willing to work hard and dig your heels in. On a side note, it may not seem like hard work if you feel lit up by your idea.
If you don’t act on those brilliant ideas that slip into your mind they’ll move on and disappear never to be seen again. When you have an idea worth exploring, act on it, see where it takes you, and trust the process.
There’s a reason those ideas come to you so own them, bring them out into the world, and make them a reality!
